Valentines Day!

Some how we have always missed Valentines Day, so this is our first one! It was great!
I made Joe a great dinner... Pork Chops, Couscous, Asparagus, Croissants, Salad, hand made Japanese grape juice and for dessert I made chocolate mousse in a chocolate cookie crust with whipped cream on top! We watched two movies "Run fat boy run" and "Notting Hill" both were so cute! I love Valentines day, I am already looking forward to next year!

Chocolate covered potato chips for during the movie... as if potato chip weren't bad enough!

Our Table

The couscous

DessertPork chops on my brand new platter that I broke the next day! I was bummed! Joe's gift to me! I love my new golf shoes! One of the things I got Joe for Valentines day... I could not believe it when I realized he didn't have a braves tee shirt... they are his favorite team. The most beautiful flowers ever! Joe holding my gifts!

January YOSC Function

This is the white Geisha bad pic but the only one I could get.

They made everyone draw a number to see what table we would sit at... I really didn't want to because I wanted to sit by Jill. some how we got lucky and were seated back to back! This is Jill between our Chairs.

This month the Yokota Officers spouse club... had a really fun event. It was a Tri-services luncheon. We went to Camp Zama an Army Base... we got to hear from the first white geisha! She is an anthropologist who went to Cambridge and also has worked for BBC. She now lives in Japan and has gone through the whole process of becoming a geisha. PS- not the kind that are sketchy... the kind that play Japanese flutes and dance beautifully! It was really cool.

Girls night

We played a fun game... where we pulled questions out of a bowl and had to answer whatever the question was... example First Kiss. It was a lot of fun.

Asama's eruption

A Volcano eruption...really! For some reason I have never really worried about Volcano's in Japan. I guess I didn't realize it was a real threat. But, last night MT Asama erupted. We are 65 miles N N/W of there so not close enough to get hurt but close enough to have lots of fun Ash! School was canceled because I am sure the ash isn't that healthy for you... Joe and I both have sore throats, yuck! This whole situation has made me realise how close we are to MT Fuji. Volcano's who knew!
This is a picture of MT Asama last night

This is the road lines and the ash on the cars... not too bad but bad enough!
